Learning Log No. 10

Eli

In History, we learned about silkworms and how they were discovered in China by an empress. She was drinking tea in the garden when a silkworm fell into it. She saw strings of silk and discovered she could make things with it. We also learned about silkworms in Science at the same time! I thought it was interesting. Silkworms look a lot like our little caterpillars.

For Science, we are continuing to learn about insects! We ordered a cup of caterpillars to watch them turn into butterflies. When they first arrived a week ago, they were tiny! They are pretty chubby and cute now. It reminds me of The Very Hungry Caterpillar because they are eating so much of their food.

This past week, we switched to a new curriculum for Math. I was using The Good and The Beautiful's Level K curriculum, but it was too easy for me! We switched to Math Mammoth Grade 1, which is more accurate. I am doing well in math and love adding the pictures up and writing my numbers.
