My sister Layla and I started a new program to learn our times tables. It is called Times Tales. They are really weird pictures made from numbers. It teaches the multiplication facts by telling a story with the number characters to help remember them. I think it is working much better than other ways I've tried. We will be practicing them every day and hopefully finally master them.

I've been learning about insects in Science. After we set our butterflies free, we continued to learn about the butterfly cycle. We also learned about ants and how they work together. It is interesting that ants talk to each other by touch. It reminded me of when we saw an ant farm at the Natural History Museum. I am hoping we go on more field trips soon.

My favorite part of this past week in school was watching piano lesson videos from The Hoffman Academy. Each lesson has a video from Mr. Hoffman, who teaches songs and sometimes uses silly finger puppets and stories to teach something. I also pass off songs in my All-In-One Course books. I am going to start learning some Christmas songs soon!
