I wrote an essay for Language Arts this past week about optimism. The Good and The Beautiful program gave me a starting paragraph to work from, which I liked. I looked up the definition of the word in a dictionary and explained what it means. I wrote that optimism is looking for the good in a bad situation. I wasn't sure what the word meant before this assignment!

We got our Kindles in this week, so I enjoyed doing some work on them, like Prodigy Math and Spelling City. I like having my own tablet to mark off chores and homework we do during the day. I really like trying new apps that have games for math, reading, and even science. I am excited to use my Kindle this week for school!

This past week, I passed off two songs that I learned on the piano. One was called Up and Down and the other was called Merrily We Roll Along. It sounds like Mary Had a Little Lamb. I took my piano books and practiced at my grandma's house because she has a full piano! It was fun showing her what I learned.
